How the French Revolution influenced Russia

In my country, Russia, a man chosen by god rules us. This man comes from a family called the Romanov's. We, the people have been happy under their rule for sometime now. Altercations in France lead to a Revolution. The French Revolution allowed evil men and woman who challenged the monarch to take over. Since there was no monarch anymore this lead to a man who wanted everything. His name was Napoleon. Napoleon soon would try and invade mother Russia but we prevailed and won. So when you ask me “How I think of the Revolution?” I would respond with a scream of “Blasphemy”.

Russia view on Austria during the Congress.

The Congress of Vienna was an important factor in the balance of power in Europe. During this conference we were able to obtain more land, which will make us more powerful. Of all the good that happened during this conference to Russia, our enemy was able to increase their power too. Austria was able to gain control of the Italian city-states and had the German federation be controlled by Austria. Metternich was able to gain power for his country just like our delegate did. Austria joined the Holy Alliance as we did. The Holy Alliance made sure that no revolutionary idea’s entered our nation.

Russia view of Britain at Congress of Vienna

Before the Congress of Vienna Britain and Russia became allies in order to stop Napoleon from expanding the French empire. However, at the Congress of Vienna the two sides did not like each other at all. Russia's main ambitions for the congress were too gain lands in the Duchy of Warsaw and to expand their borders further west. Britain who was concerned about balance of power, feared that the Russians would become to powerful and possess to much land. Therefore, the British objected to Russian efforts to gain land. This made the Russians angry and made the British and Russians dislike each other.

Russia On the Congress of Vienna

We feel that the Congress of Vienna was an absolutely vital and conducive in helping keep the peace throughout the many countries of Europe. We have been kept in isolation in so long from the Western world. We wanted to branch out and explore new territories, expand into new and uncharted land, and ultimately adapt to the new cultures, reforms, and policies that have been rapidly spreading throughout Europe. Because we are so far east, we are isolated from most of the current events that are taking place every day. This Congress of Vienna has helped us gain new territory, we have taken part in controlling new lands, and now we have finally extended our influence westward. We finally now have an effective and extensive control over Finland and the entire kingdom of Poland, the Grand Duchy. This is exactly what we wanted since we definitely wanted to extend much of our influence westward, and what better, the kingdom of Poland. We now have exceeded our own personal limits. We can intervene in certain affairs and we can also experience new cultures, along with extending our own influence amongst surrounding countries. The peace will now hopefully be kept throughout the countries of Europe since France has been deprived of the many lands it had taken during its treacherous revolution. Overall, we are happy with the outcome of the Congress of Vienna and hope to extend more of our influence westward.
